In these days of societal anxiety in the West, one can often hear people speak about the supposedly huge problem of the worlds overpopulation. I have for a long time been a strong contestant of this idea. And so are the experts, as is shown in these two nice short movies which bring a resume of a night with lectures by Hania Zlotnik and Fred Pearce. Incredible data and remarks that counter the general assumptions.
It is above all the last part of the second movie that should be seen and heard by all those that are scared of the 'overpopulation': It isn't the population growth which is the problem, it's our manner of consumption.
